DRR mini to debut TPR
products at 2009 Dealer Expo
Spider-themed custom race quads return to the
Indianapolis Dealer Expo in 2009, as Tarantula
Performance Racing will feature a Suzuki LTR-450
and a DRR mini quad outfitted with TPR parts
during this year’s show.
The “Spyder Quad” is making a return to
Indianapolis after stealing the show at last
year’s convention. In 2008, Douglas Wheel
Technology (DWT) featured the Spyder Quad Suzuki
LTR-450, which was a combination build between
TPR and Quinn Michael of Outta Control Racing
Ministries.
A DRR DRX 50 will debut TPR’s “race-safer”
bumper, grab bar and combined heel-guard and
nerf bars. The DRR also will be outfitted with
ATV Four Play a-arms, swing arm, steering stem
and new Soft Bars. The quad will be equipped
with Elka shocks.
Dirtwheels featured the Spyder Quad in the
magazine’s March 2009 issue. This year, the
Spyder Quad will appear in a more race-ready
trim compared to last year, when the quad
featured a live tarantula spider inside the
battery box.
For 2009, TPR is using the championship
winning DRR models to unveil its “race safer”
products for young racers. The products are
designed to incorporate padding on the rear grab
bar similar to the foam incorporated with most
handlebars. The “race safer” youth nerf bar and
heel-guard combo is designed with full coverage
to keep young racers safely planted in the
saddle.
TPR’s candy-red booth, number 8573, will be
located in Lucas Oil Stadium near the café. The
dealer show runs from Feb. 13 through Feb. 15 in
Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis
Colts, and the Indianapolis Convention Center.
Both venues are located in downtown
Indianapolis.
Located in Hinckley, Ohio, TPR manufactures
fully customizable ATV body accessories. The
company’s top-selling bumpers incorporate a
removable center insert,
which can be customized with a rider’s number,
sponsor logo or even detailed images and artwork
– like tattoos. Tarantula Performance Racing’s
spider-web inspired lines and contours are
designed with today’s modern factory quad styles
in mind and to give riders another platform for
promoting themselves or their sponsors.
DRR ATV’s, headquartered in Brunswick, Ohio,
have been proven winners on motocross tracks
worldwide for 10 years. DRR’s have won 59
championships and counting, more than all other
mini manufacturers combined. They now
offer two and four stroke models ranging in size
from 50 to 300cc.
ATV Four Play, located in Wadsworth, Ohio, is
a fixture in the pro ranks on the east and west
coasts. Four Play’s top-level suspension
components have been run by championship winning
racers, including John Natalie Jr.
Michael, of Bryan, Ohio, is perhaps best
known for his 2003 660 Raptor “Outta Control 2,”
which he covered in gold and chrome plating and
a custom airbrushed paint job. Michael’s
dedication to spreading the gospel of Jesus
Christ through ATVs earned him and his Raptor
the cover of ATVSport magazine in July 2003.
