CYPRESS, Calif. – June 6, 2008 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., maker of some of the most popular sport ATVs on the planet, is extending its family of Raptors to include an all-new Raptor 90 youth model.  The new, affordable youth model is styled after the industry leading Raptor 700R and packs Yamaha quality and performance into a compact package for novice and youth riders (recommended for riders 12 years and older only, and always with adult supervision).

The Raptor 90, starting at $2,299 (MSRP), is a new machine from the ground up and is powered by an 88cc forced air cooled engine with fully automatic CVT transmission -- the new rider can push the start button and go without worrying about a clutch and shifting gears.  Parents will appreciate the adjustable CDI rev limiter, which allows a supervisor to adjust power output as the rider becomes more experienced.

The Raptor 90 features double A-arm front suspension with 4.4 inches of travel.  Out back is a swing arm with 3.3 inches of travel.  Both the front and rear suspension set-ups feature five-way pre-load adjustable shocks, allowing for adjustment as the rider grows and carries more weight.  A hydraulic disc brake is in the rear, dual sealed drum brakes are in the front, and the ATV rides on low profile Maxxis tires.

Taking style and functionality from the bigger Raptors, the 90 features a molded front grab bar similar to the Raptor 700R and integrated full floorboards for a more comfortable ride.

The 2009 Raptor 90 is available in Team Yamaha Blue/White (MSPR $2,299).  A Black/White version (MSRP $2,349) is also available with a dual graphic kit.  The options graphics come in red or pink and can be added and replaced according to the rider’s preference.  The Raptor 90 will be in Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning September 2008.
