Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4 ATV is Back in 2009
Cross-Functioning Wolverine Is a Sporty ATV with
4-Wheel Drive Capability

Wolverine 450 Blue |
CYPRESS, Calif. – June 6,
2008 – The Wolverine 450 4x4 ATV returns
in 2009 with the same great power and overall
performance that Yamaha customers enjoyed last
year. This cross-over ATV combines tough
and capable 4-wheel drive terrainability with
some of the fun, performance features found in
sport machines.
The 2008 Wolverine 450 4x4 offers the best of
both worlds with superior sport performance and
the option of 4WD at the touch of a button.
This machine features a tried-and-true 421cc
SOHC four-stroke engine that provides plenty of
torque-filled punch as part of the extremely
user-friendly powerband. Breathing life
into the engine and ensuring crisp throttle
response and optimum performance is a 33mm BSR
carburetor, while a durable exhaust system
enhances power delivery and keeps engine noise
to a minimum.
The Wolverine 450 4x4 features the proven
Ultramatic® transmission system, with reverse,
found on all of Yamaha’s automatic utility
machines. Yamaha’s On-Command® push button 4WD
system allows the rider to shift from 2WD to 4WD
with the push of a button.
The 450’s suspension enables the machine to
offer up a sporty yet comfortable ride. Up
front is an independent double wishbone with 6.3
inches of travel and five-way preload
adjustability, while out back is a swing arm
with 7.1 inches of travel and five-way
adjustable preload. The suspension system
is married to Maxxis radial tires mounted on 12
inch aluminum wheels, which assist in the
maneuverability in corners like a true sport
ATV. Hydraulic disc brakes in the front
and rear provide serious stopping power.
Not only is the Wolverine packed with power and
function, but it also shows off sporty-styling
and creature comforts such as a comfortable seat
and floorboards designed to help keep mud and
other debris off the rider. The Wolverine
features a digital LCD display with speedometer,
odometer, tripmeter and 2WD/4WD indicator light.
A storage platform on the rear of the machine
provides space for a small cooler or other
necessities, while a stylish headlight and
taillight illuminate the trail.
The 2009 Wolverine 450 4x4, with an MSRP of
$5,999, is available in Team Yamaha Blue/White
at Yamaha dealerships nationwide in September
2008.
